This post brought to you from the Department of Closing Open Tabs ... *g*
leesa_perrie has started a new SGA community:
rodneymckay_gen. The name is fairly self-explanatory, I think! :) There is a
comment fest in progress; they also take recs and just about anything else that fits the comm rules.
I still need to get around to doing a proper White Collar fanworks rec post (or twelve), but here's a quick White Collar insta-rec:
Lost Loves by
sam_storyteller - it's short, hilarious and TOTAL CRACK. It's a crossover with other fandoms, and telling you which ones would spoil the main joke, but if you're even glancingly familiar with the pop culture of American childhood, you will probably recognize them by reputation if nothing else.
Also, if you read Fullmetal Alchemist at all, I just discovered a fabulous story through a rec from

You've Got to Choose, a Wish or Command by
likeadeuce is a
gorgeous look at pre-series Riza: herself, her life, and the world in which she lives. It feels so real and concrete, loaded with details of life in East City and threaded with subtle commentary on economic/gender/racial bias in the FMA world through Riza's eyes - it's great!
And over in Doctor Who, here's a
very detailed timeline of the life of River Song with analysis of her character development through all the seasons in which she's appeared (backwards). It makes a lot of sense and fits everything that I remember from the show. (Actually, if they
did put this much work into her character development, then I'm even more impressed; I had assumed that they were kinda winging it, but all of this seems to fit with what we saw on the show.)
