I did a round of prompt fics on Tumblr for this delightful thing: a whump wheel. You "spin" it; a prompt comes out. (Rebloggable Tumblr post.) It's pretty great for prompts. I offered to do any previously written fandom and got a bunch of Agent Carter ones, so here are those. I'll put up the ones for other fandoms shortly.

Interrogator (Peggy & Jack, 4600 wds)
In order to pass herself off as Dottie Underwood, Peggy has to act like her. Including interrogating an unfortunately very familiar prisoner.

Your basic "forced to torture your friend/ally while undercover" trope. I described this to a couple of people as gen breathplay while I was writing it, and I do not think I am wrong though the gen part may be debatable in places.

Rainbows and Rain (SSR team, 1800 wds)
Quiet downtime after a case that went a little sideways, or at least got a little damper than usual.

Days Ending in Y (SSR team, 1400 wds)
Just another day at the SSR. Involving killer robots.

The last two are general casefic/teamfic gen.

So I basically managed not to treat anyone I intended to treat and yet I wrote SIX things, between my assignment, pinch hits, and being randomly struck by treat ideas out of the blue. All in different fandoms, too. And here they are!

Small Soft Changes (Agent Carter, Jack & Peggy, 2000 words)
Jack has a concussion. Peggy keeps an eye on him.

Quantum Theory of Magic (MCU, Thor & Loki w/Valkyrie, 2700 wds)
As they rebuild the new Asgard settlement on Earth, something is wrong with Loki. Thor just has to figure out what. Canon-divergent "everyone lives" AU with references to canon character deaths.

Hardscrabble Life (MCU, Carol/Yon-Rogg, 3800 wds)
"I thought you were supposed to be a fast study," Carol said, and shoved the Scrabble box at him. "So study." (Or: One way to teach an alien to read C-53 script.)

To Every Beloved Stranger (Magicians books, Plum + Eliot & Quentin with a little side Eliot/Quentin, 4000 wds)
There was a plague of Near Deer terrorizing some of the outlying farmsteads near the Erroneous Mountains. Post-canon reunion fic.

Drinking Games (The Expanse, Drummer & Ashford, 1100 wds)
There's nothing like good company and a good drink. (Okay, maybe a terrible drink. But the company is good.) Friendship fic set between seasons 3 & 4.

Scar Stories (Iron Fist, Danny & Ward, 2500 wds)
There was an instant when Ward could have fed the car accident story to Danny. Danny would probably have believed him. If there was one thing he knew he was good at, it was lying to people who cared about him. Post-canon sibling bonding.

Mourning Colors (Agent Carter, 2400 wds, gen)
Roger Dooley's funeral.

I had a prompt that had been sitting around in my Tumblr inbox for a while, asking for Jack crying. That's the seed this story grew around, though the story ended up being much more about Peggy.

And the authors were revealed for the Just Married exchange! Shockingly and unexpectedly, the Iron Fist cuddle-pollen fic was me.

Skin Hunger (Iron Fist, 7400 wds, Ward & Danny & Colleen)
Ward gets hit with sex pollen (of a sort) in an abandoned temple.

This is a story I probably wouldn't have written for someone whose tastes I didn't know pretty well, especially for a pairing exchange, because it's basically sex-tease with no actual sex, but it also straddles the pairing line a little too much to be gen by the strictest interpretation. But it's for glorious_spoon, who has written similar things to this for me (which I loved!) in Agent Carter, so I thought she'd probably be on the same page with me here idwise.

So I ended up writing a lot for this (about 50K). Mostly pretty obvious, I feel. But not entirely.

Stranger Things

as the war machine keeps turning (Billy & Max + a little of the others, gen, 10K words)
It's one day after the end of the world, and Max is on the world's worst road trip.

I picked this up as a pinch hit because season 3 left me craving a Max & Billy reconciliation, and the recip's apocalypse prompts gave me one of the few scenarios in which I could really imagine it happening. This is kind of Stephen King-ish and was hella fun to write.

The Punisher

Nature Red in Tooth and Claw (David & Frank & Sarah, gen + David/Sarah, 22K words)
Six months after David had his last sight of Frank being dragged off by Billy Russo's goons, he finds Frank again in an underground fight club.

My actual assignment. My notes say "3K of werewolf Frank." Hahahahaaaaaa. *sob* This goes AU in the next-to-last episode of season one.

Iron Fist

But Never Broken (Danny & Ward + Colleen, gen, 9K words)
Ward managed to talk Danny into coming to the Rand annual anniversary gala, but even from beyond the grave, Harold is still finding ways to screw their lives up. Set between seasons.

A treat that got slightly out of control for the prompt "sick/hurt at formal social event." rachelmanija gave me the brilliant idea of Harold managing to poison Ward from beyond the grave.

All You Have (Danny/Ward, 3700 words)
In which Ward is sick, and Danny and Ward take obliviousness to new heights while stuck in the middle of nowhere.

I think this might be my first time writing Danny/Ward outright.

Alliance-Union

Flying High (Hellburner crew, canon pairings, 4200 words)
Updating the team's flight tapes means drugs. No one is happy about this.

Another pinch hit, which I decided to jump on after getting some of my other assignments squared away, because I always love writing the Hellburner crew and this gave me an opportunity to write Ben doing what chomiji so accurately describes as his Sanity Anchor thing.

Post-shooting, Jack overworks himself.

I thought I wasn't going to manage anything but my assignment this time, but I ended up writing two last-minute treats right before deadline, so I'm happy about that! No big surprises on fandoms/ships/characters this year; I was very what you see is what you get. XD

First off, my assignment:

Certified Weird (Defenders, Misty/Colleen, 9500 wds)
Magical artifact in a New Jersey storage unit? Same weird shit, different day.

I think it possibly kinda shows that I was reading the Magicians books while I was writing this, because it's very Narnia-esque urban fantasy with portals and quests and magic objects. When I got this assignment, I mentioned to rachelmanija that this fandom cries out for long plotty femslash and I was by golly gonna write some.

Peggy and Jack, undercover at a fancy party.

Very shocking. Not my brand at all.

Jeri's Angels (Defenders, Jessica + Claire + Madani, 1600 wds)
"Oh, come on, again?" were the first words out of Claire's mouth when Jessica limped into her apartment at three in the morning, half-carrying and half-dragging a singed and bleeding Madani.

This recipient just had the BEST request about the Defenders-verse ladies all working together. They were good with either AUs or canon 'verse, so I went with a canonesque idea about all of them (or most of them) ending up being drawn into each other's orbit in the post-canon era while working, under various pretexts, as investigators for Jeri Hogarth.

I finally got all my Agent Carter short fic from Whumptober and the end-of-year advent/finishing-prompts project uploaded to AO3. In the process, I hit chapter 100(!!) on my ficlet collection and decided to tie it off there and start a new one.

Tumblr prompt for Agent Carter: Jack/Daniel/Peggy or Jack& Daniel &Peggy either for the final dissolution of the SSR and moving to SHIELD or it could be dealing (or more likely Not Dealing) with the stress of the SSR and brass and such. This is another one that really should be a longer story but I ended up just writing a snippet instead. Also posted on Tumblr.

7. Agent Carter - for the prompt: ever since you posted the thing with the ot3 at Peggy's parents' house I keep thinking about what would happen if Daniel and Jack actually had to go undercover as "confirmed bachelors" for some reason (pairings or not, author's choice). Also posted on Tumblr.

8. Agent Carter - for the prompt: A suspicious happening at a famous tourist attraction (like Yellowstone maybe? The hot pools can cook and dissolve a person if they fall in). Peggy and her boys are on "vacation" nearby and get called in to investigate. Jack thinks it's nothing and wants to get back to love-nesting but oops turns out it's a serious thing. 10. Agent Carter - Peggy/Jack/Daniel - Peggy and Daniel get sick (badly enough not to be able to work but not as bad as to have to go to the hospital), so Jack has to suddenly become a caretaker/nurse for them. Also posted on Tumblr.
