Summary: In 1944 it was about survival. Maybe it still is. Steve chases Bucky (and himself); Bucky chases himself (and, maybe, Steve); and Natasha's along because someone has to be the grownup around here and stop everyone from getting killed by rogue HYDRA experiments.

Although written as gen, this could also be read as pre-OT3 (Steve/Bucky/Natasha) if one is so inclined. This fic also fills my "brainwashing/deprogramming" square on my h/c bingo card.
