Today's reccing theme: Fanvids!

Decade in Review: The 2010s on Film. This is one of the best-edited fan music videos I've seen. It's really gorgeous.

Die Young by [archiveofourown.org profile] kaydeefalls (Buffy) - Fun, nostalgic vid about Sunnydale High.

Look at Me (I'm a Winner) (Yu Yu Hakusho/Ghost Files) - I got the urge a little while back to go look up vids for this show on Youtube, and stumbled across this delightful tribute to my favorite character back in the day (Kuwabara). I feel like, even if you haven't seen the show, this vid gets across a pretty good idea of who he is in all his comic-relief/heroic glory, with minimal spoilers.

I thought I had more but that's all I can remember for now, so I'll go ahead and post this!

Oh my gosh, "Die Young" is the most perfect BtVS song. ;____; That brought back so many old Buffy feelings.

Aww, Kuwabara was my favorite too! I'm very fond of the whole 'semi-normal human in way over their head but doing their best' trope.

(Also I learned a new word googling his name just now... 'deuteragonist'.)

Yeah, same! I really loved that he was basically just a normal guy (okay, a normal guy with a cool power) trying to keep up with, and often winning fights against, people much more powerful than he was.

I did know that word, but it never really occurred to me that that's what he is! He is, though. Well, at least in the early parts of the anime/manga.

It always made me sad that he wasn't more popular in the fandom.
