I was truly surprised and gratified that Avasarala torturing a Belter in the very first episode was referred back to, because it's been so long and normally that kind of thing would just be swept aside as "this character did something OOC evil in their first appearance; let's pretend it never happened." (Which is how it has occasionally felt.) But instead it's part of her growth as a person, and I really loved seeing that come out into the open ...huh. I'm now a little more interested in maybe continuing to watch this show one day. Avasarala ordering someone tortured in the first episode and the impression that the show expected me to just accept that kind of thing even from its sympathetic characters was one of the main reasons I stopped.
